A statewide poll conducted by University of Iowa political scientists was released today. Of the registered republican voters, when asked to choose between Romney, McCain and Giuliani, here are the results:
Giuliani : 22.8 percent
McCain : 21.2 percent
Romney :17.4 percent
Keep in mind, the margin of error reported was 6.5%.
This is a big point drop for McCain and a solid gain for Romney. The poll was conducted up until March 31st before any news was released on campaign fund raising 1Q results. It will be interesting to watch as Romney's recognition gains.
